Co-Teaching
A typical Ivy Master, Elementary or Academy class will be taught as a two, 40-minute block class. Usually you will be paired with a Korean teacher. They are not in the same class with you during your class time. You will teach one 40-minute class, and they will teach one 40-minute class. It's helpful to create a monthly syllabus like this for each class that clearly distinguishes between the 'first teacher' and the 'second teacher.' This ensures you teach the pages you should, and in the event that an unexpected event happens and one of you cannot teach all the pages that were supposed to be covered that day, you can come up with a solution to make sure all the pages are taught by the end of the month. Ivy Kids classes do not operate like this.
Grammar in Disguise
If you're not a grammar buff, do not worry. ECC's language course books do not use grammatical terms until the most advanced level (English Odyssey). Instead, grammar is taught through expressions and sentence patterns. Even at the high levels, ECC's course books do not require a detailed knowledge of English grammar.
