Hello from Nam-Bundang ECC,
At Nam-Bundang ECC we can have between 16 to 20 teachers who are Korean English teachers or Foreign Native English teachers. Our usual enrollment averages around seven hundred students and with special summer and winter classes, close to nine hundred students. Our academy uses two floors of a building, the 3rd and 4th, with 15 classrooms.
Nam-Bundang ECC is considered to be one of Bundang's biggest ESL schools dedicated solely to teaching English to children and is located near Sunae subway station. It is a short 5 minute shuttle bus ride away. It is referred to as a satellite city or suburb just south of Seoul. Also there are many bus stops situated around the academy's area that will take you to Seoul. Our academy is located in a wonderful and peaceful neighborhood. There are many places to visit and things to do. You can go shopping at Lotte and Samsung Plaza Department stores or do grocery shopping at E-Mart and Wal-Mart. You can also make use of the hills located directly behind our school during the spring, summer, and fall months for hiking and exercise. The people of our city are very friendly and accommodating. There are also various restaurants within walking distance or a short bus ride that will serve several types of food such as Korean, Western, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, etc. There are also many health clubs located in and around our area, for those of you interested in keeping fit. There are also two very beautiful parks where you can stroll through the flowers in the spring, and view the leaves in the Fall. One of the parks even has bungee jumping available!
Once a month, there is a birthday party held for the students who have birthdays during that month, which is usually held on a Friday. On these days, lunch usually consists of pizza, chicken, kimbab (California spring rolls), oranges and cake.
Most classes are 40 minutes long. A Korean English teacher will teach for 40 minutes and a Foreign English teacher will teach the same children for 40 minutes also. This gives our students a total of 80 minutes of class time with a Korean teacher and a foreign teacher. Kindergarten students have a Korean English teacher and a foreign English teacher. The number of students in a class is 10 to 12, never exceeding 12.
The accommodations that are provided for our foreign teachers are located within walking distance to the academy. They are well kept and most necessities are provided, such as a washing machine, television, sofa, bed, desk, and a wardrobe closet. All in all, Nam-Bundang ECC is a nice place to teach and a great place to live. So if you are after a pleasant and memorable experience in Korea, then ECC Nam-Bundang is the place for you.
