Welcome to Hwajeong ECC. Our academy is located near Hwajeong station on the orange line (line number 3) which runs from Ilsan to Seoul. We are only about 30 minutes from downtown Seoul where the YBM Head Office is located. Hwajeong subway station is just a 5-minute walk away from our academy. Hwajeong ECC is one of the closest ECC schools in Ilsan to Seoul. In fact, Hwajeong ECC is only 5 subway stops from Yeoshinnae Subway Station, which is part of Seoul. Hwajeong ECC is now near Hwajeong E-mart (the Korean version of Wal-mart) and has been newly renovated in a new building.
On average we have about 10 to 12 teachers, who are native English speakers or Korean English teachers. Some of our teachers have been with us for many years now. Our school is not too big so the working environment is very friendly and family-like.
We are located in Ilsan, which is considered one of Korea's premiere suburb-like cities just north of Seoul and connected by the Seoul Subway line. This part of Korea is cleaner & quieter than Seoul and has all the amenities that a community of 500,000 needs such as shops, department stores, large discount stores, movie theaters, restaurants, clinics, entertainment spots, and government offices just like Seoul. But unlike Seoul, it is not as crowded and there are no traffic jams. Please don't think of Ilsan as having a small town environment. It is a very urban area with many buildings, shops, parks and places to go.
Our school is only four subway stops away from Jeongbalsan Station. This is considered to be downtown Ilsan where you can find the Lafesta Mall. This area is also a busy area with many bars, restaurants, and nightspots. There is also the Jeongbalsan Park, where you can go hiking, jogging, and bike riding.
The apartments for our teachers are right next door to our academy. We use mostly single studio apartments. Our single studios are usually the "Officel-Tel" types. These are studios located in modern high-rise buildings with security guards and are very popular with office workers living away from their home. The photos listed here are examples of an "OfficeTel" that we currently provide to several of our teachers.
