Hi from Sungbuk ECC,
Our academy, located in Sungbuk-gu, is close to Seoul's main downtown area (Jongno & Myeongdong) and our school is within a one-minute walk from Sungshin Women's University station on subway line #4 exit number 5. We are just a short subway ride to the famous Dongdaemun market and only two stops away from Hyehwa subway station (line 4) home to the popular Daehangno (College Street) district where you can see the latest fashion trends popular with today's university students. You can experience live street performances and even have your future read to you by one of many Korean fortune-tellers in the area. Daehangno is also well known for many university sponsored plays and live performances.
Sungbuk ECC's location is ideal for those that want to be close to central Seoul and yet have quick access to northern Seoul's Nowon district and Mt. Bukhansan (Northern Mountain). We are only a short walk from the subway station and our teachers' accommodations are not too far from the school. In this area there are many department stores, discount outlet stores, restaurants, ex-pat bars, internet cafes, karaoke rooms, movie theaters and many places that are open 24 hours making it a very lively place to hangout.
At Sungbuk ECC, the management and staff are committed to making our teachers as comfortable as possible during their time here at ECC and in Korea. Sungbuk ECC currently employs more than 20 Korean and Native English teachers.
Most classes are 40 minutes long with a five-minute break between each. Classes consist of no more than 12 students and are taught by a Korean teacher for one period and a Native English teacher for one period. Our Korean English teachers are all very friendly and quite helpful when it comes to preparing lessons and also helping new English teachers adjust to life in Korea.
