Cheongdam ECC is only around a 10 minute walk away from the famous Galleria Department Store, which is located in Apgujeong-dong, considered to be one of trendiest and most affluent districts of Seoul. This area contains a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, nightclubs, and stores catering to many fashion-conscious young people. The average resident in this district will be someone who has traveled or has lived abroad and wears the latest brand name labels.
Our school is in the heart of the ritzy Apgujeong-dong/Cheongdam part of Gangnam and is frequented by celebrities from fashion and luxury industries, as well as models and entertainers. Cheongdam ECC is located between Cheongdam subway station and Gangnam-Gu Office subway station on line 7 however if you wanted you could also walk to Apgujeong subway station on line 3. Being a region that is home to many of the rich and famous, it is often referred to as the “Beverly Hills” of Seoul.
Currently, our staff is comprised of a manager who has worked at several YBM schools, a supervisor with many years of teaching experience, 14 to 16 teachers either Korean or native English speakers.
One of the many benefits of working at a company-owned ECC school is the close working relationship between the native English teachers and the Korean teachers. Many of our Korean teachers have been through a teacher-training course. Also our native English teachers go through a brief paid training period and orientation during which they get to observe some classes and learn the material they will use to teach with. Many of our current teachers also have more than a year of ESL teaching experience. Another benefit that we offer is that the rent free housing we offer is within walking distance to the school.
At the school our students range between the ages of 5 to 14 years old. Each class is divided into two sections, which are mostly 40 minutes each. A Korean English teacher teaches one section and the native English speaker teaches the other half.
