Hello from Daejeon ECC,
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, here to ensure your adjustment to your new job and life in Korea goes as smoothly as possible. The school itself is situated within the popular and affluent Dunsan district near Daejeon's Government Complex Buildings (Jeongbu Cheongsa Subway Station).
This is an area with many amenities including western-style bars, restaurants, clubs, movie theaters, and a large shopping complex. Just a short cab ride away is Daejeon's second downtown district known as Eunhaeng-Dong where there are many trendy bars and cafes including J Rock, The Brick House, Sugar Watermelon, among others. These areas are where the majority of Daejeon's foreign community and Korean university students like to spend their free time so there is never a shortage of new people to meet.
Located directly behind our school is the Daejeon Culture and Arts Center. It is a concert hall where they perform Korean remakes of famous Broadway shows and other various concerts. If you enjoy outdoor activities, you will be happy to know that Daejeon is located near several national parks for camping and hiking, including the famous Mt. Gyeryeong.
Don't forget that the famous hot springs of Yuseong, for relaxing, rejuvenating massages and skin therapy, is only a short bus or taxi ride away.
The housing for our foreign instructors is clean, comfortable and quite accommodating, located within a 10 minute walk from the school.
Centrally located, Daejeon gives you convenient access to all areas of Korea. Trains and buses can connect you to all major (and smaller) cities quickly and frequently. With the new bullet train now in service, Seoul is only 50 minutes away and Busan just a couple of hours.
Have a nice day and we look forward to seeing you soon!
